At the beginning of the year, we shared some letters from the Second Annual Youth Membership Contest. Here are some more we thought you may enjoy.

My name is Jacob Tice and I'm 12 yrs old.
In august, this will be my second young bird
season and I'm very excited. This year we
have a big young bird team, because last
year we bred 35 ybs and lost all but seven.

We are trying to build up a big yb. team so
hopefully we'll have a bigger old bird team.
We have 2 lofts, one for breeding and one
for racing.   Both lofts are 4 sections.

The landing board goes across the whole loft
It has 4 stall traps, this is some of the facts
about my racing team and lofts.
Thanks for giving me the chance to participate
in this youth program.

Hello, my name is Tiby Ranca
I've been a member of the AU for four years.
I fly with the AWOL Club in Anaheim, CA.

My dad and I have our loft together.
My dad has been a part of AWOL for about
9 yrs and has inspired me to fly pigeons too.

Flying pigeons has been a fun hobby and also
makes you feel good about yourself when
you get that Trophy !

Flying pigeons has been a great experience
for me and my dad, we really enjoy it.

Hi, I'm Careron and I am almost Seven
I live in Eaton Rapids Michigan with my
parents and my little brother.
My team includes 6 OBs and 10 YBs.
They help me out by giving me the Pretty
Birds, so I know which ones are mine
My pictures are of 2 of my good Old Birds
The BB-spl. is LM841, she flew many races.
Some of her stats are 136th in State 500
1st place in the club from Nashville, TN
and 88th in the combine from Seymore, IN.
The other bird is "RedWing" (not shown)
given to me by my Grandpa who lives next
right next door, and is responsible for
us getting into flying pigeons.
"RedWing" has not won any races, but
he always comes home, usually on the day.

My loft is called "Rug Rat" Loft.
I got my name because we was sitting on
my mom's bed and she was talking to me
about starting to race pigeons.
We were watching "Rug Rats" on the TV
and the name "Stuck"
Our old loft was too damp and dark, so
Mom and Dad decided to build a new loft.
Our new loft has 7 different sections,
2 for YBs, 2 for Cocks, 1 for Hens,
1 for Chicks, and 1 for Breeders.
The Breeders pen is also sectioned
I got some of my team from Brad Hoggan,
and Rick Post, the others we raised.
I am so excited to be racing.....
I can't wait for the first race !

Thank you. Signed: Shantell Seamons

My name is Joey Younan, I am 5 years old and live in Lincolnwood, Illinois. These are pictures of me and my sister Sarah, along with some of our pigeons. My loft is called "ZORRO Loft".   I have loved pigeons since 9 months old. When i learned to walk at 9 months of age, I would go in to my Dad's loft and start grabbing the pigeons.   I taught my little sister how to catch them too. I'm sure we both drive my Dad crazy.   One time we set free one of Dad's Prisoner birds and he didnt know until another flyer called him up on the phone to tell him he had trapped one of our birds into his loft.
