BIG WINS AT KANSAS CLASSIC

Six winners left an absolute blowout of an event with bragging rights. The 1st annual Kansas Classic Show and Auction boasted an impressive 359 entries out of 33 lofts from 9 states to participate in the show that promises to be more impressive each year.

Winners topped out as:

Champion of show: 03-STP-7776 Blue Bar WF Splash Hen owned by Tom Fremont of Maplewood, MN. Winner of $1000.

Reserve champion: 04-HOT-522 White Grizzle Cock owned by Pat McElravy of Mulvane, KS. Winner of $500.

Champion diploma bird: 05-GB-661 Blue Pencil Hen owned by Tom Fremont of Maplewood, MN. Winner of $200.

Reserve diploma bird: 04-I-12272 Blue Check Cock owned by Gail Huddle of McPherson, KS. Winner of $100.

Champion eyesign bird: 94-GA-1666 Barless Blue Cock owned by Dennis Kuhn of Bell Plain, MN. Winner of $200.

Reserve champion eyesign bird: 02-Tulsa-115 Red Check Hen owned by Eric Greenfeather of Sapulpa, OK. Winner of $100.

The auction’s top selling bird was donated by Dion Trent of Nebraska.

With the newly initiated AU Judging Program, AU Judges Alan Dyer of Happy Camp, CA and Freddie Rivera of Spring Hill, FL joined with Dale Golla of Oakdale, MN; Bill Jordan of Norman, OK; Gary Young of Morrison, OK; and Jim Greelis of Omaha, NE assisting.

Judge applicants had an opportunity to take the AU Judges Test, administered by Freddie Rivera and Alan Dyar, with all applicants passing successfully.

The weekend kicked off with an AU Plains Zone Meeting Friday night, headed up by Bill Mitiu, AU Plains Zone Director of Brookfield, IL; Karen Clifton, AU Executive Director; and Deone Roberts, AU Sport Development Manager.

Immediately following the zone meeting, Freddie Rivera gave a double dose of valued information in his seminar Ten Successful Points On Breeding.
