NEW YOUNG PROMOTER
IN LOUISIANA
Bryan Chaisson was speaking with Gene
Yoes at their club meeting recently.
Bryan’s son, John, wanted to do a school
project on racing pigeons. Bryan
wondered where he could get some
handouts for the project. Gene referred
Bryan to the AU national office.
John worked hard on the project and the
whole family became excited about it.
With the materials from the AU, he put
together an attractive tabletop display,
complete with a stand up backboard with
pictures. Samples of items used in the
hobby were on the table, along with the
flyers and magazines.
John is flying with his dad’s club, the
Lake Charles Invitational, this year.
He’s off to a great start with
promotion! And, John and his dad found
out that Mom knew more about pigeons
than they thought. She does not
participate with the pigeons, until race
day, when she comes out to watch. She
assisted the project by typing the
report and asking great questions, to
which she had most of the answers. John
asked his mom how she knew so much about
the pigeons when she is not around them.
Bryan shared her reply, “Well, when you
and your Dad are talking, if it is not
about LSU football, it is the darn
Pigeons!” He thought that was a good
answer.
