APRIL - NATIONAL PIGEON AWARENESS MONTH

It’s time once again for the contest that recognizes your promotion activities. It is spring and it is a good time to get out and share. So many of you do a fantastic job of getting the word out about your favorite sport. Keep track of sport promotion activities you do in April. This is the 7th year AU will recognize the go-getter that tops the list in number of promo activities during April. Share with us the tried-and-true and the new ways of improving positive public awareness for the homing pigeon and the racing hobby.
The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate good toward any AU gift item or leg bands.

Presentations can be in any variety of locations or groups: libraries, schools, civic clubs, youth groups, other hobby clubs, etc. The individual or club can make the presentation as simple or as elaborate as they would like.
You might gain new members as a result. Let us know!

If you need materials to enhance your event, contact the national AU office. We are ready to assist.

The contest begins April 1, 2008 and ends April 30, 2008. All you have to do is send a summary of your presentations. Be sure to include the name of the group you visited and when you made your presentation.

Feel free to share photographs too.

Mail your results to the AU office. Please have them postmarked no later than May 20, 2008. The winning club or individual will be selected from these lists. The winner will be announced the first week of June.
